Pediatric Dose Calculator

How we check doses

We don’t write our own dosing. Every dose on this site is copied from sources written or reviewed by physicians and public-health agencies, and every number is checked against those sources before a page goes live. The site hasn’t yet been reviewed by a named clinician of our own; when it is, their name will appear here and on every page.

Where the doses come from

The sources page lists every reference, and each medicine page lists the ones it uses.

How every number is checked

  1. A script downloads each source directly (not a summary of it) and compares it with the site’s data: every cell of every hospital table, and the exact wording of every label instruction we rely on.
  2. Any mismatch blocks publishing until it’s fixed or explained. The last full check ran on 2026-09-25, and every value matched.
  3. A separate check runs on every build: each liquid dose’s mL must equal its mg at the product’s strength, and every cited source must exist.
  4. The calculators were tested against hand calculations, including the age limits where they refuse to show a dose.

Where we chose the more cautious option

Sometimes two trusted sources differ, or a table disagrees with itself. When that happens we take the more cautious reading and say so on the page. For example:

Corrections

We re-run the source check whenever a source is updated. When we correct an error, we fix the page and update the date its doses were checked.
